Yellow Micronesian Ginger Lei
The Yellow Micronesian Ginger Lei has the fragrance of the ginger flower but the reddish-yellow color of the lei comes from the lantern lime ilima.
The name Micronesian was given to this lei as it looks just like the tattoo that is around the neck of many of the Hawaiin islanders. The Polynesians that arrived in the Pacific islands during the first century AD brought many different food and medicinal plants to include ginger which is a fragrant flower still used for decoration and adornment.
